In August 2010, Lear Corporation made a commitment to the City of Detroit to provide $5,000,000 in cash for park renovations.  By 2013, Lear completed those renovations at Hope Park, Williams Splash Pad Park, a splash pad in Palmer Park, Mesmer Park and Brennan Pools and Field House at Rouge Park.

In 2011, during a time when the City of Detroit was forced to reduce it’s park maintenance, Lear provided program funding to Motor City Grounds Crew to maintain three of the parks it renovated: Hope Park, Messmer Park and Williams Splash Pad Park. Since that time, our organization continues to maintain parks and other green spaces throughout Detroit.  From 2013-2018, we were the only organization that Adopted 5 or more parks through the Mayor’s Adopt a Park program.
